I'm from a small Texas town called Willis. You've probably never heard of it, but perhaps you've heard of Huntsville Texas our sister city just north of Willis by 15 minutes. If not just consider me from Houston. I lived my whole life in Texas. When I graduated high school I moved to Russia. I was looking for an adventure- but instead fell in love. I fell in love with the people, the city of Saint Petersburg, and the White Nights. The fall of 2003, brought many unforeseen hardships to the States. While anxiety hung in the air for all Americans, I was in a warm delerious dream of love seperated from the fear and reality of the rest of my family and friends.
My project is an attempt to look at Love as an intoxicator, drug, but most importantly a state of delerium. Love simply put (not to sound poetic) is a dream. Any kind of love puts one into a state of dreamery. Ask your self, how many times have your friends said he or she is hot or so and so is perfect, when in actuallity that same so and so has countless flaws that your friend just doesn't see. I will interview five of my closest friends and record their stories of being in this delerious state. If love is blind what causes this blissful dreaming that only the one in love can experience?
